We had a fantastic night at the 2011 New Year soul night at the Festival, our first time but hopefully many more to come. Any chance that you could post some of the pictures or videos on you tube? It would be great to look through them and enjoy the night again during the gloomy winter months to come.

Now that 2011 is drawing to a close, really looking forward to Jersey 2012. We have been to all four Fitzsoul Jersey Soul Weekenders so far and we hear that the next one is going to be bigger and better than ever. Can't wait!
Speedo (Nottingham)
Had a fantastic night at Stage One last Saturday. Young (and I mean young!) Danny Clegg play one hell of a set. That young man will keep this brilliant music we call Northern Soul alive in the future no shadow of a doubt. Make sure you bring him back to a Fitzsoul venue more often in 2012 Fitzy!

Came to the lodge in Ripley Friday just gone & WOW! "one little gem of a place" probably the wrong thing to say but it really felt like a elite small select club with one hell of a atmosphere. sadly had to go around 11 but god i hope there's another. thank you
Adrian
Just to say what a great night at Ripley FANTASTIC thx

A fantastic weekend great people great music. The hotel was of 4 star quality food was excellent (and I’m fussy) and lucky with the weather, what more could you ask. It's in my diary for next year already.

Thanks to Fitzy for superb organisation, and the rest of the DJ’s for the great choice of music some of which took me way back.
Lisa & Neil (Huddersfield)
Fantastic weekender yet again, well done to all concerned especially Christine on the door for the organising and keeping an eye on those trying to sneak in without wrist bands!!!! Sterling job.

Hotel brilliant, atmosphere superb, music and DJ’s second to none and waiter service for the beer, what more can anybody ask for.  The company we had all weekend was “special” and made it extra special for us, you know who you all are!!

Bring on 2012, interest from our area is building, every time we go out we are questioned, got a feeling it will be even better next year, Neil feels like saying it’s rubbish, otherwise we may struggle to get a place!!!!
Gaz & Michelle (Coventry)
It was our first ever Jersey Weekender but will not be our last , excellent djs , fantastic company , great food , lovely surroundings , cannot wait for next year
Bridgey & Linda (York)
This was our 4th Jersey Weekender and we've got to say;  It was absolutely fantastic.  There was nothing to fault whatsoever, from leaving York on Friday to getting home on Monday.  We have once again made friends with more lovely people, as we seem to do each year.  The Hotel, Music, DJ's, Food, Shopping, in-fact the list goes on & on - one word; Awesome.  We both take our "Hats Off" to Fitzy & Christine for organising such a "Pure Fantastic Weekender". KTF..................   Bridgey & Linda.

Hiya Fitzy + Chris and everyone else that were lucky enough to be at the Jersey weekender. It was my first time there and I`ve just got to say what a fantastic time I had and I`ll definitely be going again! Everybody there was really friendly and I met some brilliant people. The hotel was excellent [I would know as I never left it the whole weekend]! The music in all the rooms was absolutely amazing, and I`d like to thank each and every DJ for making my time in Jersey so memorable. Looking forward to the next one already. Cheers. Sylv

Hi Fitzy, We just wanted to say thank you for a fantastic night at the Festival. It's the first time we've been, but it certainly won't be the last. What a great, friendly atmosphere and a superb range of music from right across the board- truly something for everyone. I'd also like to thank you for enquiring about overnight accommodation on our behalf. Much appreciated. It was nice to meet you in person last night -  I'll buy you a pint next time! Looking forward to the next night at the Festival, and hopefully the Jersey weekender next year. All the best

Hi Kev & Chris. Just wanted to say thanks for another great time in Jersey. We have now been to all three Jersey Soul Weekenders and can honestly say that this was just as good as the first two. The atmosphere on Sunday night was one of the best ever. Thanks to all your DJ's - I hope you will bring them all again next year. Any chance of a Jersey reunion with all the DJ's at the Festival sometime between now and next February.
Paul (Muz) and Debbie
Well a BIG THANK YOU, Kev, Chrissy and old and new friends, you really did make this one even better than the first two. For us, the music and the DJ's were all “spot on”, making this a “Must Go“ event.
“Sister Act” and the “Ekie thump knotted hanky posse” certainly set the standard for next year’s final night!!!! So to anyone who missed out “Pack your Talc” I hear all 3 dance floors will be “gagging for it” next time!!
Glenn Phillips (Jersey - ex Hull)
A massive thanks goes to Fitz and the crew for a excellent weekender. Totally brilliant time. DJ's played some old tunes which I thought I was sick of! Just shows you how an excellent atmosphere helps make a tune special again. Well done !!!! Many thanks, Glenn
Colleen (Nottingham)
Hiya Kev and Chris thanks again for a great night! and we must not
forget Clive !! even if we didn't get to hear "Walk In My Shoes"!! We will miss not going to Jersey !! but will be there next time !!

Hi Fitzy, What a fantastic 4 nights over in Jersey, I loved every minute of it. Looking forward to Feb 2010. The Crowd was great, lovely hotel that you just could not fault, great staff, great dance floor and a fantastic sound system in both rooms. Good to see a good following from the mainland. Great sounds played all 4 days with totally different tracks played every night with only requested tracks getting played more than once. Thanks for allowing me to DJ out there for you. Many thanks Danny KTF
Muzzer & Debbie
What a "belter", a real "top drawer" weekender, great sounds from breakfast till zzzzd time. The introduction of the motown room really worked. And Fitzy and all the "Fitzerettes" (DJ,ROADIES, DOOR CREW) what a full on effort throughout the whole weekend. It really was worth it thanks. Hope the ferry was kind to you on the way back Kev!!! Really looks like Feb is a must attend do! As does this Sat at the Fez, Im getting withdrawl symptoms already.
Thanks again Muzzer and Debbie .

Hello Kev, did not have a chance to speak to you personally, but I did have a long conversation with Chris about Line Dancing and Lindy Hop!!
I would just like to say what an ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC TIME our party had...apart from my mates partner Pam who was laid up with flu all the weekend. Great Venue, Great People and on the whole a Great music mix! I can appreciate the effort that was put in to setting up the weekender and if it was not for guys like yourself we would all be at home on a Saturday night watching X Factor and eating a Dominos Pizza! Fanksalot Fitz !
Clive Henderson - DJ (Alfreton Derbyshire)
Hi all, Thanks to all who made the November weekend a good one, especially the party people in the Motown Room who were very up for it. They know what they like and like plenty of it, back to back Motown and Soul Classics a plenty.
Kaz (Nottingham)
like to thank all concerned with the 2nd Jersey Weekender. The DJ's did a fantastic job. Young Danny Clegg [excellent] Jools Metcalfe [excellent] Bridgie [excellent] The Jersey Guys [excellent] and to Fitzy for staging the whole event. A big well dun. Long may it continue. WELL DUN GANG from THE MUSIC FAIRY
GallonOfMagnet (Nottingham)
Just back from Jersey and all "Souled Out" (well at least until next February). Another fantastic time had by all, and great to see both new and returning faces. We were well impressed with the new DJ's especially Jools and young Danny, who despite his age has an excellent knowledge of the scene and a fantastic collection of vinyl. And what can you say about Bridgey that hasn't already been said, and not forgetting "Seasick" Clive who's Motown set on Friday night was one of his best (for some reason). Can't wait to go back in February.

Just to say that the weekender was brill! Just what we needed over here. Many thanks for letting me do a couple of sets, I have had so many comments back from the Jersey crowd, and they are all looking forward to the next one.

The other D.J’S were brilliant, and learnt a lot of new tracks for the Soliel Crew. I am glad that the people that came over really enjoyed our little Island and that they will return in November. Big Kev on the door, is also looking forward to working with you again. KTF

Dear Kev and Christine, Just a belated "thank you" for promoting and organising an excellent First Jersey Soul and Motown Weekender at the Mayfair Hotel. We were treated to three nights of quality Soul and Motown sounds by a line up of excellent DJ's who catered for their audiences tastes and not their own ego's.

The hotel and staff were excellent and I made lots of new friends as well as catching up with all of the old ones. On a personal note, thank you both for taking time out during the weekend to come over and have a chat, it was much appreciated, I also enjoyed the Sunday night drinking session Kev!!!!

I will certainly be at the next Weekender in November. Just waiting for the details for the independent traveller to go onto your message board. Well done and KTF.

Hi all, just to say a big thanks to all that attended the Jersey weekend and for making it a great event, as a DJ it is always good to play to a crowd that embrace the spirit of the whole event and are there to have a good time and show their appreciation of the music where it matters... on the dance floor. Also to those who showed great interest in the records played and were keen to chat about all soul related matters. Once again thanks all.

How are you then? Me old mate, OK?
As for the fave tracks don’t forget The Spellbinders Chain Reaction [have you still got it?] You did have back in the days of old
We will try and get down to one of your nights soon {I hope}
All the best to Chris.
PS how is Stu doing, haven’t seen / heard of him for ages

I thought that the last two soul nights at The Festival and Stage One were the best ever. Packed to the rafters and dancing all night, you can't beat it. New faces galore, hope they keep coming. Can't wait for Soul on Sunday this weekend.
Lulu (Nottingham)
The "Soul on Sunday" was FANTASTIC!  I am fairly new to the soul scene and I am starting to recognise various tracks and route out my favourites! A quick question?  When will the T-shirts be ready to buy! Already booked my flight for Jersey.  Keep up the good work!
Southern Noel
Never miss a session, great night once again.
Would echo whats being said around the soul scene Duffy track is ok and gets a good floor, seems the dancefloor is having the say at the moment.Lets see how long it keeps getting played.
Going back quite some time now Fitz but it would be a treat if you found time to play the "3 before 8" They dont get played anywhere nowdays. Now I dont know about anyone else but I used to look forward to you finishing off the night with those 3 tracks and it
always put a seal on a great night, it was something to look forward to when the night was drawing to a close. Would also be nice to see a poll of peoples top soul or motown tracks. Maybe if you get time Fitz you can add a section for us to post our list of top tracks,be interesting to see whats most popular. Well gotta be off now but before I go just wanna say well done on getting a website and keep up the good work.
Noel - thanks for your message - sorry it's took so long to post it on here, it got lost in cyberspace for a while!. Great idea about the poll - watch this space. Fitzy
Stu (Stage One DJ)
Hi Fitzy, excellent news, to put a bank holiday "Soul on Sunday" night on, I will be there with the rest of the soulies to enjoy a brilliant night, the music is always top notch especially "love, love, love" - Bobby Hebb.
SeniorWalker (South Yorkshire)
Despite it being the second soul night in less than a week and the good weather having an effect on the attendance, it was another great night at the Festival again last night. Keep up the good work Fitzy!
SeniorWalker (South Yorkshire)
Thanks for setting up the “Soul On Sunday” bank holiday soul nights - bank holidays will never be boring again. Like the new songs added to the request section on the Top Tunes page, any chance of “Hey Girl” by “Peter Hamilton Generation”. Keep up the good work and see you in Jersey.
Bob-a-Job (Nottingham)

Can you play a record for Cath and Richard who will be at the Festival this Saturday. “Nothing Can Compare To You” by “Velvet Satins” Many Thanks. Jan.
The Music Fairy
Yet another excellent turn out and enjoyable night.Good sounds played all night long dance floor very busy. Can't wait for the Jersey trip should be a good one. New faces appeared yet again, hope they come back and anyone who has not been to this venue as yet get on down there for a great night. Soul and Motown Rule forever.
Wendy "One of the three stooges"
In response to GallonOfMagnet's comment re the duffy track whilst I appreciate it is a big floor filler it no more sounds like northern soul than George Michael singin heavy rock!!!!!!!!!!!!.Comments please.
Fitzy played a blinder as per usual on Saturday night at The Festival and he packed them in as per usual.!!!
GallonOfMagnet (Jim from Stabbo)
After a long wait Fitzy, you have finally moved into the 21st century and got yourself a website. I am looking forward to being able to buy Fitzsoul merchandise as soon as the Fitz Shop pages are up and running.
Roadrunner (Nottingham)
"Happy Easter" to everyone. See you at the Festival on Saturday.
GallonOfMagnet (Jim from Stabbo)
I'm not normally a fan of current chart music but must say that the single by 'Duffy' is passable as 'soul' music and has a bit of a 'northern' vibe to it, anyone agree?
GallonOfMagnet (Jim from Stabbo)
For a cross section of Northern Soul music you could do a lot worse than getting 'The In Crowd', a 50 song double CD from Castle Music (CMEDD049 dated 2001). Check out Amazon only £10.98. Anyone else got any recommendations?
