  JERSEY SOUL WEEKENDER 2023 - STORM CIARAN


Jersey Soul Weekender 2023 is now over. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who attended in very difficult circumstances following Storm Ciaran.


Fitzsoul would like to thank guests for the effort that they made made to find alternative travel arrangements. We are also grateful to the airlines for putting on additional flights once Jersey airport was open again on Friday afternoon.

 

Obviously some guests were not able to change their travel for which we are deeply saddened, but hope that guests will appreciate that a storm of this magnitude has not been experienced since 1987 and the closure of the airport and cancellation of flights is entirely outside of the control of Fitzsoul.


At the height of the storm some local residents were unable to to return to their homes and Fitzsoul would like to thank those guests who did not get to Jersey who very kindly offered their hotel room to the local residents.


Cancellation / Refund Policy (Seymour Hotels Group)

We have received questions about the cancellation / refund policy for this event due to the storm. Guests are reminded that all bookings have been made by agreeing to the terms and conditions of Seymour Hotels Group. The policy is that cancellations within 10 days of the event are still payable in full. Any refunds will need to be made through travel insurance. Fitzsoul will provide support to enable guests to facilitate their insurance claim by providing a cancellation invoice that can be used to support your claim.


Social Media

Fitzsoul has received what we perceive to be unfair criticism from some individuals on social media regarding communication about the storm and its impact on the event. Fitzsoul is not a large organisation and does not have teams of staff manning telephones, checking emails or updating social media on a minute by minute basis. Guests will be aware that it was an ever evolving situation during Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week, with Fitzsoul taking over a hundred phone calls from concerned travellers. In any case the travel situation was out of our hands. Guests were also updated via the Fitzsoul website each time there was an update from the airlines. The majority of guests have been understanding and did take out the appropriate travel insurance. Once again we thank guests for making a great effort to attend the event. THANK YOU!
