 IAN MILLS - SADLY MISSED

Send us your memories of Ian

Messages and Memories of Ian

A genuine nice guy, someone we were more than happy to call a friend. The Festival will definitely not be the same place and it will be strange not to see you sharing the stage with Kev or propping up the bar next to 'our' podium! Would have liked to see you dancing at least once mate, but it wasn’t to be. Our thoughts are with you, Karen. Keep The Faith, Ian and Rest In Peace.

Jim & Gail, Nottingham

Most of the Jersey crew knew Ian, and that I and all the members of the S.S.C. Send our condolences and love to Karen. Also to Fitzy and Chris for this sad, sad loss.

We were gobsmacked when we heard - Ian was a no nonsense type of bloke who said it like it was whether you liked it or not even if he was your mate - but that was our Ian and we liked him for that. It was a privilege to have known him and we'll miss our chats about anything and nothing and the venues will never be the same again. Ian had a huge knowledge about "the scene", the music and the records that few people had the privilege of talking to him about - but we were among those few. What else can we say - Ian's passing was way, way too soon there was still a lot left to do, places to go and still a lot of records to buy - with or without Karen's permission!!!! Karen is a close friend as well and we are with her every step of the way. Whenever we're at the Festival, Stage 1 or Leicester - we know you'll be there. Thanks for the laughs, conversations, knowledge and jokes that we shared with you.

Denise & Rob

Shocked and saddened to hear of Ian's passing. Always told it like it is but a true gent at the same time. Leaving a big gap mate. Strength and love to Katen - take good care of yourself.

Keith Lishman, Leicester

I first met Ian in Jersey at the Soul weekenders. A really nice gentleman and it was pleasure knowing him. He will be sadly missed at Jersey 2015. Sincere condolences to all family and friends.

Mike Taylor, Manchester

So shocked to hear about Ian's passing, he was such a genuinely lovely guy. I recall first meeting him about 15 years ago in a cafe in Skeggy, I think he was moaning about the weather (it was cold). The soul nights at the fez will never be the same without him. Our thoughts are with Karen at this time.

I am absolutely shocked, totally saddened and deeply upset to hear this dreadful news.

A warm and welcoming person, he always had the time to say hello and have a chat and my goodness me what a breadth of knowledge he had. The loss to his family, who have my sincere condolences, is immeasurable but we on the scene have also lost a true giant amongst soul connoisseurs and enthusiasts. God bless you, buddy, and Rest In Peace Richard xxx
